In Sandown High School, Lake, Isle of Wight IWM War Memorials Archive Record Link : War Memorials Archive Reference 40841 - World War I Link : War Memorials Archive Reference 40842 - World War II Description Bronze Plaques mounted in oak, erected after the Great War and World War II to pupils from Sandown Secondary School / Sandown Grammar School which is now Sandown High School. The WW I plaque was designed by Mr C.W. Turner, the art master of the school, and was unveiled on 31 December 1925. WW II plaque unveiled July 1948; during the ceremony, a former headmaster, Dr J H Parkinson, died. Unveiling was performed by a former pupil, Major P F Acford.
