Son of Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Hopkins, of 1, Rosehill Terrace, Drake Rd., Newport, Isle of Wight, England.

Father was Robert Grossmith Hopkins, Mother was Mary Anne Hopkins, (née Attree), who died in 1900. He remarried, in 1902, Minnie Salter.

Born : 1889, Cambridge.
