The aircraft crashed into the sea during a patrol after experiencing engine trouble. Sgt Rylands' body was not found; the others were returned to their home towns for burial. Sgt Palmer is buried at Ryde, and commemorated on the Binstead War memorial and the Ryde Borough War Memorial. |
