Son of : the late David Thompson (died 1914) and Mary Jane Thompson (née Young), of Farringford Farm Cottage, Freshwater, Isle of Wight.

Born : 1881, Brighstone.

  Census information :

1891 : David and [Mary] Jane Thompson, with their children including Frederick aged 9, are at Drapers, Brook Side, Brighstone. David Thompson is a Farm Servant (Carter).

1901 : David and Mary Thompson, with their children including Frederick aged 19, are at Bartlett's Farm, Brading. David Thompson is a Shepherd, Frederick David Thompson is an Agricultural Labourer.

1911 : David and Jane Thompson are at 37 Prince St, Ryde. David Thompson is a Carter.

Frederick David Thompson emigrated to Australia at about the age of 24, settling in Sydney, and continued to work as a labourer. He was killed in action at Gallipoli.

Died : 20 May 1915 aged 35.
