  Service details :

Private 23039 Martin Loudon Hayden, 13th Bn, Hampshire Regiment

From his discharge papers, Martin Hayden was called up for service in the Hampshire Regiment in March 1916. He was assigned to B Coy, 13th (2nd Reserve) Battallion and sent to Bovington Camp in Dorset for training. He was considered to be unfit for military service and had "... practically no service, being ill all the time".

On discharge, he was 5 ft 8 1/4 in, of fresh complexion, with grey eyes and black hair. his address was Tyne Cottage, Godshill and his trade was a Gardener.
  Casualty Details :

Died : 1917 aged 32

Buried at : All Saints Church, Godshill, on 4 November 1917.

There is no CWGC record as he died following his discharge.
