Sergeant Barton served with 602 Squadron Royal Air Force equipped with Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I aircraft.
At the time of his death (believed to be in a flying accident) the Squadron were based at RAF Redhill in Surrey.
He is buried at Kingston upon Thames Cemetery.
