Archibald John Harvey

Son of John William Harvey and Jane Grace Harvey (née Baker), of Shalfleet, Isle of Wight.

Born : 1885, Shalfleet, Isle of Wight.

On his Canadian Army Attestation Form, he gives his date of birth as 5 February 1887, and his trade as Salesman, with 4 years previous service with Canadian Army Medical Corps. He was 5 ft 5 in tall, with grey eyes and brown hair.

Census Information :

1891 : John and Jane Harvey, with their children including Archibald aged 6, are at Ningwood Green Farm, Shalfleet, Isle of Wight. John Harvey is a Farmer.

1901 : John and Jane Harvey, with their children including Archibald aged 16, are at Ningwood Green Farm, Shalfleet, Isle of Wight. John Harvey is a Farmer; Archibald is a Grocer's Apprentice.

1911 : Archibald Harvey not located; his family are at Palmers Farm, Shalfleet, Isle of Wight. Archibald Harvey is recorded as having travelled to Canada via Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.A., in 1910.
