CHALE
CHURCH MEMORIALS. - The Diocesan authorities have granted an omnibus facility for the erection of a granite cross in the parish churchyard as a war memorial; the removal of the oaken war shrine from the outside of the church to the west wall inside; the erection of an alabaster tablet, with inscription, memorial to William Margetson Heald, Lieut, R.A.M.C., died in France, 1918, and a brass tablet memorial to Gladys Elizabeth Mary Way.

REST IN THE ST SEVERS
CEMETERY AGED 24 YEARS

Son of the Rev. Charles William Heald and Charlotte Heald (née Jolliffe) of Chale, Isle of Wight.
 
Born : 21 August 1894, Chale.
 
Educated at Marlborough College 1908-1913, St John's College, Cambridge 1913-1916, and St Bartholomew's Hospital, London 1916-1918.
