The aircraft took off from RAF North Luffenham to lay mines off the coast of Brest and was lost without trace. All the crew are commemorated at the Air Forces Memorial at Runnymede.
 
Sgt Taylor is also commemorated on the Memorial at Carisbrooke High School, the former Newport County Secondary School.
