  Census information :

1901 : William and Charlotte Whittington, with their daughter Miriam and grandson Gilbert aged 5, are at Chillerton, Gatcombe. William Whittington is an Agricultural labourer.

1911 : Charlotte Whittington, widow, with her daughter Miriam and grandson Gilbert aged 15, are at Style House, Arreton. Gilbert Whittington is a Cow Boy on Farm.

Rifleman 1813 Gilbert Whittington, 1/8th Bn. Hampshire Regiment (Isle of Wight Rifles).
