Husband of Florence Sarah Snooke (née Revell), of 2, Horndean Cottages, Clarence Rd., Ventnor, Isle of Wight.

Married 1906 (registered in Droxford, Hampshire); four children born between 1907 - 1915.

News has been received that Pte. John T. Snooke, Royal Warwickshire Regt., has been killed in action. He was formerly in the Transport Section of the Hants Regt., and was recently transferred to the Warwicks. For ten years Pte. Snooke worked as a coachman at The Maples, Bonchurch; he joined the army two years ago and had been in France about 17 months. Just before the war began he started a firewood business. He was killed instantaneously by a shell explosion. Pte Snooke was a much respected man and leaves a widow and four young children.

... Votes of condolence were passed with Councillor F.H. Sheppard in the death of his wife, with Mrs. B. Primmer in the death of her son, H.G. Primmer, R.A.F., and also with Mrs. Snooke in the death of her husband.
