The death of the following officers is announced in our obituary column today :-

Lieutenant Ronald McDougall was 24 years of age. He was gazetted Second Lieutenant in the East Kent Regiment in 1911, and was promoted in the following year.

McDOUGALL. - Killed in action on October 20th, Lieutenant Ronald McDougall, the Buffs, dearly loved youngest son of James T. and Margaret McDougall, of Blackheath, and St. Lawrence, Isle of Wight, aged 24.

VENTNOR'S ROLL OF HONOUR
Another local bereavement has had to be recorded as a result of the war. Information was received in Ventnor on Sunday of the death of Lieut. Ronald McDougall of the "Buffs," son of Mr. and Mrs. McDougall, of St. Lawrence. Lieut. McDougall was killed during a battle in Flanders on October 20th. At a meeting of the local War Relief Committee on Wednesday, a vote of condolence was passed with the family, Miss McDougall, sister of the deceased officer, being a very esteemed and hard-working member of the Committee. Another son of Mr. and Mrs. McDougall is about to leave for the front.

The family's Island residence was St Rhadegund's, St Lawrence. The Will of James Thomas McDougall, proved in 1919, shows that he left £81,567 3s 3s.
