Eldest Son of Beauclerc Bennett Beckingsale and Annie Catherine Beckingsale (née Hudson), of Fairlee House, Newport, Isle of Wight.

Born 1887 Wimbledon, Surrey. (Birth registered Kingston Sep qtr 1887).

Educated at the Isle of Wight College, and Blundell's School, Tiverton, Devon.

1891 : Beauclerc and Annie Beckingsale, with their family including Beauclerc Leigh, are at 28, The Downs, Wimbledon, Surrey. Beauclerc Beckingsale is a Solicitor.

1901 : Beauclerc Leigh Beckingsale aged 13 is a Boarding Pupil at the Isle of Wight College, Appley, Ryde.

1911 : Beauclerc and Annie Beckingsale, with their family, are at Fairlee House, Newport. Beauclerc Leigh Beckingsale has not been found in the Census for 1911.

Information has been received by Mr. B.B. Beckingsale, Fairlee House, Newport, that his eldest son, Lieut. B.L. Beckingsale, Royal Irish Fusiliers, reported missing in France, on the 21st March, was killed by a shell on the St. Quentin front on that day.

Administration of his effects was granted 6 January 1919 to his father. Value £414 3s 2d (National Will Calendar).
