The aircraft took off at 22.36 hrs from RAF Pocklington for Ops on Dortmund. It was shot down by a night fighter, flown by Lt Robert Denzil[+] of IV/NJG 1, and crashed at 00.36 hrs on the Vooreg, 7km South East of Dollkun, in Holland. Five crew members have no known graves. Air Gunners Buck and Rose are buried in Kollumerland (Westergeest) Protestant Churchyard. Pilot Officer Chiverton came from Arreton, Isle of Wight.

At a ceremony on 4 May 2003, a memorial to the five aircrew who have no known grave (including H G R Chiverton) was dedicated at the Westergeest Churchyard. For details of this see the village website of Westergeest.
