Biographical information

SERGEANT HAROLD WAVELL of the Isle of Wight Rifles was killed in action at the Battle of Gaza on 19th April 1917 having survived the campaign in Gallipoli. He was the village bootmaker at Newchurch and the son of Mr and Mrs Leonard Wavell of Lake.
