RIFLEMAN DOUGLAS PHILLIPS, son of Mr and Mrs William Phillips of Apse Heath, serving
with the Isle of Wight Rifles, was killed in action at the Battle of Gaza on or about
19th April 1917.
CWGC record ... not found "Soldiers Died in the Great War" does not list a Douglas Phillips for this date. Two other Riflemen who died on this day were Ernest Phillips of Nettlestone, and George Edward Phillips of Southampton. |
