The aircraft took off from RAF Spalding-on-Moor for Ops over Germany. It was shot down by a night fighter, flown by Lt Heinz-Wolfgang Schnaufer of II/NJG 1, and crashed at 01.55 hrs at Vottem, 4 km North of Liege.
The crewmen are buried in a collective grave at Heverlee War Cemetery.
Flt Sgt Harris lived at Lake, Isle of Wight.
