IN MEMORY OF SIR BARRINGTON SIMEON, BART 1909 "BE MERCIFUL" Further information The Memorial drinking fountain is badly damaged with parts missing. Sir John Stephen Barrington Simeon, 4th Baronet, MP, JP,DL, was born in 1850 and died in 1909. He was the son of Sir John Simeon, 3rd Baronet, whose memorial is situated at the junction of Carisbrooke Road and Castle Road, Newport. He was Member of Parliament for Southampton from 1895 to 1900, and lived at the family estate Swainston Manor. |
