Description

A bronze portrait head of Earl Mountbatten, mounted on a stone plinth.

Earl Mountbatten of Burma was the Governor of the Isle of Wight from 1965 to 1979.

The sculptor was Vincent Apap (1909 - 2003) from Malta, who undertook a number of portrait busts of the Mountbatten family and the British Royal Family.

Bust unveiled by HRH The Prince of Wales in 1982.
