Description

Memorial commemorating the small ships which took part in the Dunkirk evacuation 1940. The Newport based boats were operated by Pickfords carrying goods between Newport and Portsmouth.

Steel plaque unveiled in 1990 by the Mayor of Medina, Cllr T.P Cunningham.

Thanks to Richard Botten whose grandfather F Botten was a crew member on the "Bat"

"J Hocking" of the 'Bee' was actually Marc Hocking (full name Marcus Ian Hocking, who died in December 1968)
