From the Isle of Wight County Press, 13th November 1920

"... Members of the East Cowes Conservative Club who lost their lives in the Great War were remembered on Armistice-day, when a wreath of laurels was placed on the brass memorial tablet, and underneath were many beautiful floral emblems from relatives of the fallen."
