Description

The Spinney at Mornington Green was created as a Memorial to the WRNS members who served at HMS Vectis in Cowes.

The Spinney, together with a seat bearing a memorial plaque, was opened by the Countess Mountbatten of Burma on Monday 8th May 1995.

Subsequently, the memorial plaque was stolen, but it has been replaced as illustrated.
