To the glory of God and in loving memory of Francis Ainger Burnett, Lieut 1st
Battn Shropshire Light Infantry. Born 2nd May 1868. Lost 10th Oct 1892 in
the wreck of the SS Bokhara on Sand Island, Pescadores, China Sea


 

Further Information

The vessel was a P&O steamer engaged in trade in the far east.
Lt Burnett was a member of the Hong Kong cricket team, formed of both military garrison and civil personnel, who were passengers on the vessel. The team was returning from Shanghai where they has played against the Shanghai garrison team.
