Since the Memorial forms part of the fabric of the Church, is it assumed that it is included within the Listing. Description A brass plaque naming those members of 40 RM Commando who trained at Chale, and who died on active service in the loss of HMS Fidelity, on 31st December 1942. The plaque was unveiled by Major J.C. Beadle MBE MC RM, Vice President of the 40 Royal Marines Commando Association (1942 - 46), on 22 April 1995. Note : in the Commonwealth War Grave Commission records the date of death for all the men lost is given as 1st January 1943 |
