June 2008 : 18 Island War Memorials have been included in the Isle of Wight Council's Local Listing of structures of local importance. These are : Ashey, Bembridge, Binstead, Brighstone,
Calbourne, Camp Hill Prison Officers, Cowes, Godshill, Haven Street (Willis-Fleming shrine), Lake, Newport, Niton, Porchfield, Sandown, Shanklin, Shanklin (Townswomen's Guild Memorial Bench),
Totland and Ventnor.
